Privacy Policy

ReviewMyProf LLC operates ReviewMyProf. This policy explains the information we handle when you browse the site, create an account, purchase a semester pass, or contact us.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, public username, account identifiers, and login and session records. Login codes are used to verify access to your email.
• Public content: professor and school directory information, student ratings, review dates, and reviews. Profiles may contain information from public directories and other sources.
• Payment and access records: transaction identifiers, amount, currency, payment or refund status, receipt links, and pass start and expiration dates. Stripe processes payment details; we do not store full card numbers.
• Support messages: the email address, topic, message, and any information you choose to send through our contact form.
• Technical and usage information: IP addresses, browser or device information, security logs, cookies, and checkout activity, including whether a checkout leads to a completed payment.

How we use information

We use information to operate the directory, verify logins, manage accounts and pass access, process payments, respond to questions, investigate corrections or review concerns, prevent abuse, and understand how checkout is working. We may also retain or disclose information when needed to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.

What other visitors can see

Professor and school profiles, ratings, review dates, and review usernames may be publicly visible. Full written reviews require a pass. Some existing reviews appear as Anonymous. Your login email and messages sent through our support form are not published on the site. Choose a username that you are comfortable sharing.

Service providers

We use Cloudflare for hosting and security, Supabase for our database, Resend for email delivery, and Stripe for payments. Our support messages are delivered to a private business inbox. These providers receive information needed for their services. Fonts are loaded through Google Fonts, which can receive technical request information such as your IP address. Payment services may also collect device and transaction information to process payments and prevent fraud.

Providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Stripe’s handling of payment information is described in its Privacy Policy.

Cookies and checkout analytics

We use cookies to keep you signed in and to support checkout. Login sessions are generally set to last seven days and may refresh with use. A first-party checkout identifier can remain for up to one year; it helps us count checkout visits and completed purchases and may be associated with your account when you sign in. Stripe may use cookies or similar technologies for payment functionality and fraud prevention.

You can control cookies through your browser. Disabling them may prevent login or checkout from working. We do not run third-party advertising on ReviewMyProf.

Retention and security

We keep information for as long as needed to operate the service, maintain transaction and access records, handle requests, prevent abuse, and satisfy legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information and purpose. We use access controls and other safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and requests

You can update your public username in account settings. To request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, or ask about rights available where you live, use our contact form and select “Privacy request.” We may need to verify your identity. Some information may need to be retained for legal, security, or transaction-related reasons.

If a professor profile contains inaccurate personal information, send us the page link and the correction you’re requesting.

Children

ReviewMyProf is intended for a college audience and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Changes and contact
